About Us

Organizations We Participate In...

Chi Omega Rho encourages it's members to participate in other student organizations, as these will help to enrich academic growth. Currently, we have members that participate and in some cases hold positions in:

  • American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS)
  • Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
  • American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
  • Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
  • Student Government
  • Students Planning Activities Monthly (S.P.A.M.)
Besides participating in these organizations, our members often volunteer to help the school with Freshman Orientation. We have a very strong campus presence, and members of our organization are respected by staff and faculty.

Just For Parents

We know that the stereotypical sororities have sometimes a bad reputation. However, Chi Omega Rho is profoundly different. Here are some reasons that we stand out amongst our peers:

  • Our sisters demonstrate strong leadership skills, which we not only look for in new members, but continue to strengthen as active members.
  • Our sisters Maintain high GPA's. To even be active in our sorority, we require that you maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, but our average is really a 3.11.
  • Our sisters have professional careers. Most of our sisters are already working in their major's career field, and can act as mentors to new members or other students.
  • We conduct regular business meetings to manage our money, time and accomplishments. This helps us to be extremely organized and goal oriented, with the means to achieve our goals.
  • We participate in several Charity functions, such as Breast Cancer Walks, Clothing Donations to Charitable organizations, Food Drives, Leukemia Walks, and many more. We enjoy and look forward to continue helping our community and those in .
  • We strongly oppose hazing. For more information on hazing, check out www.stophazing.org.

Most importantly, we are friends. Lawrence Technological University has one of the lowest female to male ratios out of all the colleges in Michigan. Of course the number of female students is growing, but we know how hard it is to make friends at a new school, especially when the girls are hard to find at our school!! Chi Omega Rho affords the opportunity for its members to form strong lasting bonds with sisters, and many of our alumni have maintained their friendships long after their college days. Some of the best friendships people have were formed in college, we simply take advantage of this opportunity to have organized friendships!! Basically, we are a group of friends that has a collective pocketbook to enable us to enjoy our college experience to the best of our abilities!! What more could a girl ask for?!
